Patna: In a joint operation by the Patna Police and STF team of Buddha Colony, the absconding main accused, Randhir Yadav, in the contractor Uday Kumar murder case was arrested. Along with Yadav, his accomplices Vikas and Sahil were also apprehended. DSP Law and Order Krishna Murari Prasad stated on Monday that they received secret information about Yadav’s presence at a house in Masjid Gali of Buddha Colony police station, prompting the formation of a team that included STF officers.
During the raid, police seized two illegal loaded country-made pistols, nine live cartridges, three magazines, and four mobile phones. Sahil is a resident of Kurji Mor Gate No. 64, and Vikas Kumar, also known as Nepali, is a resident of Cheena Kothi. DSP Prasad explained that contractor Uday Kumar was murdered in front of Bans Ghat on April 10, with Randhir and others subsequently going into hiding. The police had already arrested two other accused, Abhishek and Vishal, in connection with the case.
The DSP elaborated that all three criminals were found in the same room when the raid occurred. After receiving a tip-off, the criminals loaded and cocked their pistols, ready to fire. The police sought assistance from the STF, and the coordinated effort led to the successful arrest of all three suspects late at night.
Randhir Yadav has multiple charges against him, including murder, extortion, and violations of the Arms Act, all registered at Buddha Colony police station. On April 10, three criminals on a bike shot and killed contractor Uday Kumar in broad daylight near the Kali temple adjacent to Bans Ghat. The assailants then fled towards Rajapur bridge on their bike.
