Begusarai, June 7: In the Central Zone of the Shyamal Sinha Inter District Under-16 Cricket Tournament, held at the local Barauni Fertilizer ground, Muzaffarpur triumphed over Saharsa by 99 runs. Kushdev Prasad Singh of Muzaffarpur played a remarkable unbeaten innings, scoring 108 runs off 76 balls, which included 18 fours and 1 six.
Muzaffarpur’s captain won the toss and elected to bat first, leading his team to a total of 280 runs for 6 wickets in the allotted 40 overs. Apart from Kushdev’s stellar performance, Rajveer Anand contributed 59 runs. For Saharsa, Shivam, Satyam, and Ayush Ranjan each took one wicket.
In reply, Saharsa managed to score 181 runs for 8 wickets in 40 overs. Ayush Ranjan was the top scorer for Saharsa with 54 runs, followed by Mrinal Singh with 49 runs. Sanu Kumar was the pick of the bowlers for Muzaffarpur, taking 3 wickets, while Bablu Kumar took 2 wickets.
