Kerala Lead Bihar by 6 Runs After Second Day in Cooch Behar Trophy Under-19 Match

Patna: In the Cooch Behar Trophy Under-19 Men’s Cricket Tournament, hosts Kerala gained a narrow first-innings lead of 6 runs over Bihar, reaching 335 for 5 at stumps on the second day at the Trivandrum KCA Cricket Ground in Mangalapuram. Kerala’s captain, Imran Ahmed, led with a remarkable 178, helping Kerala surpass Bihar’s first-innings total of 329.

Resuming their innings on 22 without loss, Kerala suffered an early setback when Vasudev Prasad Singh dismissed Ahmed Khan, caught behind by Taufiq, with only 8 runs added to the score. Soon after, Suman Kumar claimed Rohit K R for 10, leaving Kerala at 51 for 2.

Captain Imran Ahmed then formed a crucial 89-run partnership with opener Akshay SS to advance the score. Akshay fell leg-before-wicket to Suman on 140, bringing Mohammad Anaan to the crease. Together with Ahmed, Anaan contributed a steady 30 before also falling to Suman, helping Kerala edge towards 200.

In a defining stand, Advait Prince Asramam joined Imran Ahmed, adding a solid 128 runs in 178 balls, pushing Kerala’s total past 300. During this partnership, Ahmed approached his double century but was dismissed by Suman for a well-crafted 178 off 187 balls, featuring 22 fours and 3 sixes. By the end of the day, Advait Prince Asramam remained unbeaten on 54, with Altaf S providing support on 1.
