Grand Start to All India Ranking Tennis Tournament in Patna

Patna: The All India Ranking Tennis Tournament, organized under the aegis of the Bihar Lawn Tennis Association and hosted by the local Naseeb Sports Academy, commenced on Monday with a grand opening. Naseeb Sports Academy expressed its gratitude to Akhouri Vishwadeep, Honorary Secretary, and Akhouri Vishwapriya, Joint Secretary of the Bihar Lawn Tennis Association, for facilitating the event. This tournament is a championship series level event, and all main draw participants will receive valuable national ranking points based on their performance as per the guidelines of the All India Tennis Association.

Players from major states including Assam, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, West Bengal, and Bihar are participating in the tournament. In the boys’ category, Samay Arman of Jharkhand and Ayushman Pathak of Uttar Pradesh are seeded 1 and 2 respectively. In the girls’ category, Sai Rupi Mohanty of Odisha and Pranaya Mishar of Bihar are seeded 1 and 2 respectively.

Boys Results – Round 1 (32 players draw)

  • Anirban Deka (Assam) defeated Chinmoy Boro (Assam) 6-2, 6-2
  • Kumar Kautilya (Chhattisgarh) defeated Sarthak Singh (Bihar) 6-0, 6-0
  • Priyansh Thakur (Bihar) defeated Arnav Verma (Maharashtra) 7-5, 3-6, 6-1
  • Kavin Ojha (Bihar) defeated Pranjal Singh (Bihar) 7-5, 6-2
  • Kumar Anshuman (Bihar) defeated Anurabh Srivastava (Bihar) 6-0, 6-0
  • Arav Deep (Bihar) defeated Ankur Alok (Bihar) 6-2, 6-0
  • Viraj Kulkarni (Maharashtra) received a walkover from Vedansh Baid (Bihar)

Girls Results:

  • Manya Singh (Bihar) defeated Vaishnavi Poddar (Bihar) 6-4, 6-0
