Jamui: The former principal cum vice principal of Simultala Awasiya Vidyalaya (SAV) Sunil Kumar has been suspended with immediate effect by education department of state government taking cognizance of chargesheet submitted to the department by Sri Navin, District Magistrate (DM) concerning irregularities in school.
In the chargesheet submitted to education department by DM vide letter no 212 dated March 16, 2026 serious administrative and financial lapses in school were brought to notice of the department. Following review of the charges, the department has ordered suspension of former principal cum vice principal of SAV under provisions of Bihar Government Servants (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules, 2005.
The office of regional deputy director (education), Purnia division would be headquarter for former principal cum vice principal of SAV as per education department directive. Meanwhile departmental enquiry has been initiated against suspended former principal cum vice principal.
It may be mentioned the DM in course of his visit to SAV in past had expressed his dissatisfaction over lackadaisical work culture and falling academic standards of school. Following his observation, DM laid stress on initiating corrective measures that could help reviving academic glory of the prestigious school.
The corrective measures as per a concerned district official helped in restoring high academic standards of the school. The outstanding performance of students of the school in matriculation examination of 2026, substantiates the corrective measures that were taken proved to be result oriented, the concerned official said.
With an objective of providing quality education the SAV a premier residential school was established by state government in 2010 on pattern of Natarsha school, it may be mentioned. The school figures in list of top boarding schools of country.
Meanwhile in administrative circle of district it is largely felt submitting of chargesheet by DM against administrative and financial lapses in school has sent a loud and clear message concerning zero tolerance of irregularities at district level.
