East Champaran Triumphs in Nail-Biting Final at BCA Shyamal Sinha Under-16 Cricket Tournament

Bhabua, June 26: East Champaran emerged victorious in the BCA Shyamal Sinha Inter District Under-16 Cricket Tournament, organized by the Bihar Cricket Association and hosted by the Kaimur District Cricket Association. The final match saw East Champaran defeating Gaya by a narrow margin of 11 runs.

Held at the Jagjivan Stadium in Bhabua, East Champaran won the toss and elected to bat first. They posted a total of 188 runs in 37.3 overs, with Madhuranjan Pandey leading the charge by scoring 57 runs off 63 balls. Contributions from Shivam Kumar (24 runs), Siddharth Gautam (24 runs), Navneet Kumar (24 runs), and Manikant (11 runs) bolstered the innings.

For Gaya, Anish Kumar was impressive with the ball, taking 3 wickets for 34 runs. Raja Kumar also claimed 3 wickets for 25 runs, while Ayush Kumar picked up 2 wickets for 31 runs.

In response, Gaya managed to score 177 runs before being all out in 39.3 overs. Opener Ayush Kumar made 34 runs off 50 balls. Pawan Bhardwaj (25 runs off 18 balls) and Abhishek Raj (25 runs off 36 balls) also made significant contributions. Other notable scores came from Pradeep (18 runs), Pritam Raj (18 runs), Yashasvi (14 runs), Shivam (13 runs), and Raja (11 runs).

East Champaran’s Manikant delivered a match-winning bowling performance, taking 4 wickets for 23 runs. Cash Alam supported with 2 wickets for 42 runs, and Satyam took 1 wicket. Manikant’s outstanding effort earned him the Player of the Final Match award.
