Patna: Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) chief and Union Minister for Food Processing Industries, Chirag Paswan, has expressed a stronger inclination towards Bihar politics than Delhi. In an interview with a private news channel, Chirag stated that he plans to contest the Bihar Assembly elections in 2030.

Chirag emphasised that his primary motivation for entering politics has always been the development of Bihar. “My father, Ram Vilas Paswan, focused more on central politics, but I see my future in Bihar politics,” he remarked. Currently serving as the Member of Parliament for Hajipur, Chirag laughed off questions about his aspirations to become the chief minister in 2030. He clarified, “I mentioned becoming an MLA, not the chief minister.”

Chirag Paswan enjoys considerable support across various sections of Bihar. His “Bihar First, Bihari First” campaign has particularly resonated with the youth, establishing a unique appeal among the state’s younger population.

When questioned about the possibility of forming an alliance with Tejashwi Yadav, Chirag firmly ruled out any such prospect. He stated, “There is no chance of this. I do not believe in pressure politics. My complete dedication is towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi. As long as he leads, I will remain with the NDA.” He expressed confidence in the NDA’s performance, predicting a decisive victory with over 225 seats in the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections.

Outlining his political vision, Chirag introduced his ‘MY’ equation in Bihar, which he defined as focused on women and youth rather than caste or communal lines. “I want women and youth to receive as many opportunities as possible. In the last Lok Sabha elections, I was allotted five seats, and based on my ‘MY’ equation, I fielded youth in three constituencies and women in two. This remains my guiding principle moving forward,” he explained.

Chirag Paswan’s vision for Bihar reflects his intent to redefine politics in the state with inclusivity and progressive initiatives.
