Patna: The Akhilesh Memorial Under-13 Cricket Tournament commenced on Sunday, 1 December, at the Cricket Academy of Bihar (CAB) Ground. CAB Red secured an impressive victory in the inaugural match, defeating CAB Blue by eight wickets.
The tournament was inaugurated by International Cricket Coach Adhikari Madan Mohan Prasad, Member of the Empowered Committee of Patna Municipal Corporation Indradeep Chandravanshi, and former cricketer Sumit Sharma, who were introduced to the players during the opening ceremony. Cricket coach Mukesh Kumar extended a warm welcome to all attendees.
In the match, CAB Red won the toss and opted to field. CAB Blue posted a total of 171 for 8 in 25 overs, with contributions from Neeraj (36), Anuj (27), and Aryan (14). CAB Red’s bowlers Shaurya, Raman, and Harsh delivered disciplined performances, taking two wickets each.
In response, CAB Red chased down the target comfortably, scoring 173 for 2 in 22 overs. Raman anchored the innings with an unbeaten 70 runs, while Farid supported with a well-made 47. Raman was named Player of the Match for his all-round performance.
