Bihar Women’s U-23 Team Secures Dominant Win Over Saurashtra in T20 Trophy

Patna: Bihar women’s U-23 cricket team delivered an impressive performance to defeat Saurashtra by 20 runs in the Women’s U-23 T20 Trophy. The match, held at the Goa Cricket Association Academy, saw Bihar setting a target of 123 runs for 3 wickets in their 20 overs. Saurashtra, in response, managed only 103 runs for 6 wickets, handing Bihar a decisive victory.

Bihar’s innings were anchored by standout performances from Yashita and Preeti. Yashita gave the team a flying start with 39 runs off 32 balls, while Preeti stabilised the middle order with a composed 35 runs off 42 balls. Harishta contributed 12 runs, and Shruti added 10 runs, helping Bihar post a competitive total. Despite efforts from Saurashtra’s bowlers Monica and Hawa, who took one wicket each, Bihar’s batting lineup maintained control throughout their innings.

In the bowling department, Bihar’s bowlers were equally dominant. Preeti, Arya, and Yashita claimed two wickets each, effectively dismantling Saurashtra’s batting lineup. Their disciplined and accurate bowling restricted Saurashtra to 103 runs in 20 overs, ensuring a comfortable win for Bihar.

For Saurashtra, Miloni’s unbeaten 23 runs provided some resistance, but it was not enough to challenge Bihar’s total. Other contributions came from Umeshwari (17 runs), Ayushi (13 runs), Rajviba (12 runs), and Bhambhi (10 runs). However, the lack of significant partnerships proved costly for Saurashtra, as Bihar’s bowlers consistently broke through their lineup.

This victory highlights Bihar’s growing strength in the tournament. The team’s collective efforts in both batting and bowling were instrumental in this success. Yashita and Preeti’s excellent batting, coupled with the effective bowling of Preeti, Arya, and Yashita, secured a comprehensive win. With this triumph, Bihar’s women’s U-23 team has bolstered its position in the tournament and looks well-prepared for the challenges ahead.
