Patna: The results of the written examination for the recruitment of 4,361 Driver Constable posts in the Bihar Police and Bihar Special Armed Police have been declared. The Central Selection Board of Constable Recruitment (CSBC) has released the list of candidates shortlisted for the Physical Efficiency Test (PET), according to an official press release issued by the Board.
Recruitment Process Under Advertisement No. 02/2025
The CSBC had issued Advertisement No. 02/2025 in July 2025, initiating the recruitment process for Driver Constable posts in the Bihar Police and Bihar Special Armed Police. A total of 1,64,168 valid online applications were received for the recruitment drive.
Over 1.16 Lakh Candidates Appeared
Given the large number of applicants, the recruitment is being considered one of the major drives in the state. As per the advertisement, the written examination was conducted on December 10, 2025, in which 1,16,534 candidates appeared.
18 Candidates Found Ineligible for Evaluation
During the examination process, 18 candidates were declared ineligible for evaluation due to reasons such as use of unfair means, registration of FIRs, or incorrect marking of roll numbers or question booklet details. The answer sheets of the remaining candidates were subsequently evaluated.
15,516 Candidates Selected for PET
After completion of the evaluation, candidates were selected category-wise for the second stage of the recruitment process—the Physical Efficiency Test (PET). The list of shortlisted candidates was published on the CSBC’s official website on December 30, 2025. A total of 15,516 candidates have been found eligible to appear for the PET.
Gender and Category-wise Break-up
Among the shortlisted candidates, 15,054 are men, 461 are women, and one candidate belongs to the transgender category. The list also includes 86 Gorkha candidates and 101 dependants of freedom fighters, selected under the state government’s reservation policy.
PET Likely from March 2026
The CSBC has informed that the Physical Efficiency Test for the shortlisted candidates is likely to be conducted from March 2026. Detailed information regarding the PET schedule, dates and venues will be published separately on the official website: [https://csbc.bihar.gov.in](https://csbc.bihar.gov.in).
Warning Against Cyber Fraud
The Board has cautioned candidates that all communication will be made only through information published on the official website. No personal phone calls or messages will be sent by the CSBC. Candidates have been advised to immediately report to the nearest police station or cyber crime police station if anyone contacts them falsely claiming to represent the Board.
Candidates have been urged not to fall prey to any fraudulent claims. Reiterating its commitment, the CSBC stated that the recruitment process will remain clean, transparent and free from malpractice, and that selection will be based solely on merit and performance in the examinations.
