Patna: Candidates are eagerly awaiting the results of the written examination for the recruitment of 21,391 constable positions in Bihar Police. The results are expected to be released by the end of this month. The Central Selection Board (Constable Recruitment) is currently preparing the results, shortlisting five times the number of candidates according to the reservation categories of the advertised vacancies.

The constable recruitment examination was conducted in six phases in August 2024, with approximately 12.5 lakh candidates appearing out of a total of 18 lakh applicants. Candidates who scored less than 30 per cent in the written exam will be automatically disqualified from proceeding to the second phase, the physical efficiency test. Successful candidates will be selected based on a merit list.

According to information available, the results are likely to be published by the end of October. Following this, preparations for the second phase physical efficiency test will begin, and selected candidates will be given at least one month’s notice. The physical efficiency test is expected to take place in December at designated centres in Patna.

The combined merit list will be based on the total marks obtained by candidates in three events—running, high jump, and shot put—in the second phase. The final result will be declared based on this merit list. However, there will be no relaxation in the minimum prescribed standards for physical efficiency. While no marks will be awarded for height, chest, and weight measurements, candidates who do not meet these eligibility criteria will be deemed ineligible.
