Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary on Wednesday chaired a high-level review meeting of the Industries Department at the ‘Sankalp Sabhagar’ in the Lok Sevak residence. During the meeting, Industries Secretary Kundan Kumar gave a detailed presentation on the current progress and future plans of various schemes aimed at accelerating industrial development in the state. The presentation focused on attracting investment and creating more employment opportunities.
Addressing officials, Samrat Choudhary said that industrial development is key to Bihar’s prosperity and can significantly transform the state’s future. He stressed that Bihar must aim to reach new heights in industry, investment and job creation. Choudhary directed officials to establish 11 mega industrial parks and develop food parks in all 38 districts. He also emphasised the need to ensure land availability for industries and proposed the creation of a 50,000-acre land bank. He said Bihar has ample resources and should be developed into an attractive destination for investors.
The Chief Minister underlined that providing a favourable environment for industries is the government’s top priority. He urged officials to consult industrialists, business organisations and entrepreneurs, implement their suggestions, and resolve their concerns promptly.
He further called for simplifying and making procedures more transparent to improve Bihar’s ranking in ease of doing business. All approvals and facilities related to industries should be provided within a fixed timeframe to build investor confidence, he added.
Encouraging grassroots entrepreneurship, Choudhary asked officials to promote self-employment opportunities at the village level and support local youth in setting up enterprises. He highlighted strong potential in sectors such as food processing, textiles, pharmaceuticals and micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), and directed that work in these areas be expedited.
He also instructed officials to move forward with plans to establish a textile industrial centre in the state and strengthen the startup ecosystem to create new opportunities for young people.

Samrat Choudhary emphasised better coordination among departments to speed up land acquisition for industrial use. District magistrates were asked to engage with landowners, ensure fair compensation, and secure their consent. He also directed that incentives promised to new industrial units be delivered on time.
