The inauguration of the medical college marks a transformative step for the region, as patients will no longer need to travel to Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) for advanced healthcare.

Following the event, the Chief Minister’s convoy visited Mahamda village in Garkha block, Saran, where he launched multiple welfare schemes. These included the construction of a gym, football, basketball, and badminton courts for children. Later, the Chief Minister travelled to Ekma and conducted a review meeting at the Saran Collectorate auditorium. MPs Rajiv Pratap Rudy and Janardan Singh Sigriwal were present during the review.

The new Government Medical College and Hospital in Saran district will offer significant healthcare benefits to residents of the entire Saran division. The facility includes enrolment for 100 MBBS students and a 500-bed hospital. The educational building (G+3) spans an area of 15,419.09 square metres and features nine major operation theatres (OTs) and two minor OTs equipped with modern technology.

The BSc Nursing College and Hostel Building (G+9) has been constructed over 9,398 square metres, with an annual intake capacity of 60 students and hostel accommodation for 210 boys and girls. The hostel complex, covering 23,276 square metres, provides separate facilities for 531 boys and girls, with additional arrangements for 100 interns and 56 junior residents.

This comprehensive development is expected to significantly enhance healthcare and educational opportunities in the Saran region.
