Patna: A Bihar cabinet meeting chaired by Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar approved nine agendas spanning education, infrastructure, and welfare schemes. Key decisions included significant funding allocations and administrative approvals for various projects.
Key Approvals:
Minority Residential Schools:
Under the Bihar State Minority Residential School Scheme, administrative approval was granted for:
₹56.6542 crore for a 560-capacity residential school in Masaurhi, Patna district.
₹50.4774 crore for a 560-capacity residential school in Chanpatia, West Champaran district.
Ex-Gratia for Martyred Personnel:
The cabinet approved an increase in the ex-gratia grant for the next of kin of martyred personnel from the Armed Forces and Central Armed Police Forces.
Mahila Samvad Programme:
Approval of ₹250.78 crore was granted for the Mahila Samvad programme, aimed at empowering women across the state.
Infrastructure Development:
₹109.2183 crore was approved for constructing a Road Over Bridge (ROB) between Dumri Halt and Potahi Railway Station in Patna district.
₹43.4027 crore was sanctioned for a 1.40 km four-lane and 2 km two-lane stretch from Chhapra Bypass to Chhapra Medical College.
₹44.9136 crore was approved for strengthening a 21.85 km road from Rampur to Shringi Rishi Dham Path in Lakhisarai, including a path from Rampurhat to Kiul Railway Station.
Contractual Employment:
Chief Engineer Tarini Das of the Building Construction Department, North Subdivision, was approved for a two-year contractual extension after retirement on 21 October 2024 or until a regular promotion to the post is made, whichever is earlier.
The approved agendas reflect the state government’s focus on improving educational opportunities, enhancing road infrastructure, and prioritising welfare initiatives.
