Patna: The 14th Hockey Bihar Junior Girls State Championship 2024, organised by Hockey Saharsa, is underway at MLT College grounds, Saharsa. In the first match, Bhojpur triumphed over Lakhisarai with a 1-0 win, thanks to a goal by Nishu Kumari in the 38th minute.
The second match saw a dominant performance by Patna, who overwhelmed Begusarai 8-0. Siddhi Kumari opened the scoring in the 1st minute, followed by Rimjhim in the 3rd, Siddhi again in the 5th, Khushi in the 12th, Rishu in the 29th, Siddhi in the 42nd, Sharda in the 48th, and Akanksha in the 52nd minute.
In the third match, Saharsa defeated Bhagalpur 3-0 in a shoot-out. Saharsa’s goals were scored by Beauty Kumari, Gayatri Kumar, and Gunjan.
The final match of the day saw Arwal edge out Rohtas 1-0, with Tenu Kumari scoring the decisive goal in the 38th minute.
Bhojpur, Patna, Saharsa, and Arwal have now progressed to the quarter-finals of the championship.
