Patna: The Bihar Cricket Association (BCA) has taken a significant step towards strengthening cricket infrastructure in the state by announcing the construction of a world-class International Cricket Complex at Rajendra Nagar, Patna.
The announcement was made during a formal press conference attended by senior BCA officials, representatives of construction agency SIDPL, and project management consultant Skyline Infraworld on Friday.
During the press conference, BCA confirmed the signing of a ₹498 crore agreement with SIDPL for the execution of the project.
A formal Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed, marking the commencement of one of the most ambitious cricket infrastructure projects in Bihar.
The proposed International Cricket Complex will be developed over an area of approximately 25 to 30 acres and will feature international-standard facilities.
The project includes a main cricket stadium, modern pavilion, practice wickets, indoor training facilities, players’ dressing rooms, media centre, and administrative infrastructure. Residential facilities for nearly 300 players are also part of the proposed plan.
The construction will be carried out in a phased manner. The first phase will focus on the development of the main playing arena and essential facilities.
As part of the project, 12 to 16 pitches will be constructed to support players’ training, fitness programmes, and match preparation.
Speaking on the occasion, BCA President Harsh Vardhan said that the project reflects the Association’s long-term vision for cricket development in Bihar. He stated that the international-standard complex will enhance the state’s capability to host major tournaments in the future, while priority will be given to creating quality residential, training, and practice facilities for players to ensure a conducive environment for nurturing talent.

BCA Secretary Ziaul Arfeen said that the International Cricket Complex will serve as a strong foundation for the future of Bihar cricket. He emphasised that the project will be completed in a phased manner within the stipulated timeline and will provide Bihar’s players with access to national and international-level preparation facilities within the state.
The Bihar Cricket Association reiterated that this project is a landmark initiative aimed at the long-term growth of cricket in Bihar. Upon completion, the complex is expected to boost the state’s ability to host national and international competitions and offer local players a superior training and competitive ecosystem.
Senior BCA office-bearers and officials present at the press conference included Treasurer Abhishek Nandan, CEO Manish Raj, GM (Anti-Corruption) Ajit Kumar Pandey, GM (Admin) Neeraj Singh, Project Director-cum-Engineer Rakesh Kumar, and CA Brij Bhushan Singh. Representatives from SIDPL and Skyline Infraworld were also present.
