Abhishek Memorial Under-16 Inter-School Cricket Tournament Inaugurated with Exciting Matches

Patna: The Abhishek Memorial Under-16 Inter-School Cricket Tournament was inaugurated on Sunday at the Bihar Cricket Academy Ground, located on the La Martiniere World School campus, under the aegis of the Sardar Patel Sports Foundation. The ceremony was graced by late Abhishek’s father, Sunil Kumar Singh, mother, Jyoti Singh, and social worker Rahul Kumar, who cut the ribbon and met the players. The General Secretary of the Sardar Patel Sports Foundation, Naveen Kumar, along with Founder Santosh Tiwari and the academy’s coach, Ashutosh Jyoti Singh, welcomed the attendees by presenting bouquets, shawls, and mementos.

On the first day of the tournament, Cricket Academy of Patna (CAP) and Basawan Park Cricket Academy (BPCA) emerged victorious in their respective matches.

First Match

Cricket Academy of Patna won the toss and opted to field first, inviting AK Cricket Academy to bat. AK Cricket Academy scored 172 runs in 21.4 overs before being bowled out. In response, CAP chased down the target, scoring 176 runs for 7 wickets in 21.1 overs. Ujjwal, who took 3 wickets for 25 runs, was awarded the Rize Coaching Player of the Match by social worker Mantreshwar Singh.

Second Match

Saint Michael’s High School won the toss and batted first, scoring 94 runs before losing all wickets in 17.2 overs. Basawan Park Cricket Academy chased the target comfortably, scoring 95 runs for 1 wicket in 8.1 overs to win the match. Om Prakash, who took 6 wickets for 34 runs, was named the Rize Coaching Player of the Match.
