Patna: The Abhishek Memorial Under-16 Inter-School Cricket Tournament, organised by La Martiniere World School, Sampatchak, will be held from October 20 at the Bihar Cricket Academy ground. The tournament is being conducted under the banner of the Sardar Patel Sports Foundation, as announced by its founder, Santosh Tiwari.
According to Tiwari, the tournament will feature teams from schools, academies, and institutions, with matches played in a knockout format. Only 32 teams will be allowed to participate. The organising committee will arrange refreshments and cold drinks for players and officials.
Matches will be played as 25-over-a-side fixtures, with two matches scheduled each day.
An organising committee is being set up to ensure the successful conduct of the tournament. Besides the prestigious trophies for the champions and runners-up, individual player awards will be given, including the ‘Man of the Match’ daily. Additional awards such as Player of the Tournament, Best Batsman, Best Bowler, and Best Fielder will be presented, along with recognition for emerging talents.
