Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary on Thursday paid floral tributes to Jayaprakash Narayan and his wife, Prabhavati Devi, at their residence at Kadamkuan, which houses the Mahila Charkha Samiti.
During his visit, the Chief Minister inspected various sections of the premises, including the Jayaprakash Study and Research Centre, the Prabhavati Memorial Room, the bedroom, and the Sampoorna Kranti auditorium. He also viewed photographs displayed in the gallery depicting Jayaprakash Narayan’s early life, his role in the freedom movement, and the 1974 JP Movement (Sampoorna Kranti).
Choudhary further visited a photo exhibition showcasing the life and contributions of Prabhavati Devi, founder of the Mahila Charkha Samiti. He interacted with women associated with the organisation and remarked that the vision of Jayaprakash Narayan is being realised by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Bihar leader Nitish Kumar.
The Chief Minister signed the visitors’ book to mark his presence. Women members of the Samiti welcomed him with a traditional angavastram and bouquet, while locals greeted him with garlands and drum beats.

Responding to queries from journalists regarding the ‘Nari Shakti Vandan Act’, Choudhary said the government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to provide 33 per cent reservation for women in the Lok Sabha and State Assemblies. He added that Bihar stands firmly in support of the decision, which aims to empower women across the country.
Among those present on the occasion were MLA Dilip Jaiswal, former MLA Arun Kumar Sinha, District Magistrate Thyagarajan SM, Senior Superintendent of Police Kartikeya K Sharma, along with members of the Mahila Charkha Samiti and local residents.
