Bhagalpur: It was all praise for men in uniform by many when they were handed over their stolen mobile phones today by local police recovered under Mission Muskan. Altogether 101 stolen mobile phones were handed over to their respective owners by police officials in presence of Subhankar Mishra, ASP.
Mission Muskan is an operation launched by state police department in recent past aiming at recovery of stolen phones besides other valuable items for handing the items to their owners. The Mission Muskan has been launched in majority districts of state.
At state level thousands of stolen mobiles have been recovered so far under the special police initiative. The stolen mobiles that were handed over to owners today in this district had been recovered under phase six of Mission Muskan.
The stolen mobiles recovered in earlier phases of Operation Muskan were previously given to their owners. Approximate estimated cost of stolen mobiles recovered under phase six of Operation Muskan is stated to be Rs 21 lakh.
While handing over the stolen phones to owners, ASP Mishra, talking with media persons said as result of continuous tracking of stolen phones by International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) tracker and other technical methods, recovery of stolen phones was possible by police technical team constituted for the purpose.
Taking into consideration loss of mobile phones an essential item nowadays used for banking and other important activities, is often major setback for people, priority has been attached on recovery of the stolen phones by police, he said. ASP added Mission Muskan aims at providing early relief to victims.
