Patna: Preparations for Chhath Puja are nearing completion across all districts of Bihar, with 550 ghats and 63 ponds designated in Patna district for devotees to offer arghya. Within Patna city, from Danapur to Didarganj, 102 ghats have been readied for the festivities. However, 12 ghats in Patna have been classified as dangerous, and Chhath devotees are advised to avoid these locations. These include LCT Ghat, Bharharba Ghat, Rajapur Ghat, Karnal Ganj Ghat, Pahelwan Ghat, Bans Ghat, TN Banerjee Ghat, Buddha Ghat, Mishri Ghat, Gulbi Ghat, Adalat Ghat, and Judges Ghat.
To ensure safety during the festival, 52 fire brigade vehicles will be stationed across Patna’s ghats. Each vehicle, staffed by a driver and three firefighters, will remain on high alert. Additionally, senior officials will monitor the proceedings from a control room, coordinating efforts to manage any emergencies.
Traffic arrangements in Patna will be modified on 7 and 8 November to facilitate Chhath celebrations. On Ashok Rajpath, entry will be restricted to vehicles carrying devotees. From noon on 7 November until 10 am on 8 November, autos and other commercial vehicles will be prohibited from the Gaighat bridge area. These vehicles will be redirected via Biscoman Golambar, Dhanki Mor, and the Old Bypass under the Agamkuan ROB.
Vehicles bound for Gandhi Maidan will be able to travel only through Exhibition Road, Rajendranagar Bridge, Bahadurpur Gumti, the Bypass, and Agamkuan to Bypass Police Station. During this period, commercial vehicles will also be restricted on Sudarshan Path.
