Patna, June 27: The final match of the Patna District Senior Division Cricket League, organized by the Patna District Cricket Association Steering Committee, was halted due to rain, leading to YMCC and RBNYAC being declared joint winners.
Players from both the Senior and Junior Division Cricket Leagues were awarded and honored by Bihar Cricket Association Secretary Zia Ul Arfin, CEO Manish Raj, BCA GM Cricket Operations Sunil Singh, Lakshya Engitech LLP Managing Director SN Raju, Patna District Cricket Association Steering Committee President Rajesh Kumar, and Member Rahbar Abdin. Many dignitaries and senior players were present at the event.
Eminent personalities of Patna cricket were honored by the Patna District Cricket Association Steering Committee. Late Dr. Ajay Bhagat received the Life Time Achievement Award posthumously, which was accepted by his family. Former international umpire LP Verma also received the Life Time Achievement Award. Amikar Dayal, Tarun Kumar Bhola, and Prem Ballabh Sahay were specially honored for their significant contributions to Patna cricket.
Bihar Cricket Association Secretary Zia-ul-Arfin congratulated the successful conduct of the Patna District Senior and Junior Cricket Leagues and applauded the historic organization of the Women’s Cricket League this year.
Patna District Cricket Association Steering Committee President Rajesh Kumar shared insights about the league, noting that all matches were conducted on turf wickets without any hindrance, and expressed gratitude to the League Steering Committee members, umpires, and scorers. He promised efforts for an even better organization next year.
Executive Committee member Rahbar Abdin thanked the players and club officials for their faith in the Executive Committee and emphasized the association’s focus on developing women’s cricket in the future.
Rajesh Kumar and Rahbar Abdin welcomed everyone, and Dhananjay Kumar, President of the Patna District Senior and Junior Division League Executive Committee, expressed his gratitude. Many dignitaries, including former Ranji Player Ram Kumar, Dr. Mukesh Kumar Singh, Ranveer Mehta, Nishant Kumar, and Suday Kumar, were present on this occasion.

RBNYAC won the toss and invited YMCC to bat. YMCC’s opening pair made a strong start, sharing a 172-run partnership. Amit Kumar scored 60 runs before getting out. When rain interrupted the game, the score was 194 runs for 1 wicket in 31 overs, with Ashish Kumar unbeaten on 110 and Virat Pandey supporting with 9 runs. As the game could not resume, both teams were declared joint winners. The match was inaugurated by Lakshya Engitech LLP Managing Director SN Raju and Patna District Cricket Steering Committee President Rajesh Kumar.
