UltraTech Cement and Sona Biscuit to set up plants in Patna

Patna: In a recent Bihar Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, financial approval was granted to nine investment proposals totaling more than Rs 661 crore. Among the most notable are the proposals from UltraTech Cement Limited and Sona Biscuit Unit, with a combined investment of Rs 471 crore. UltraTech Cement is expected to invest Rs 369 crore in a production facility in Daniyawan, Patna district, while Sona Biscuit will invest Rs 110.32 crore in a manufacturing unit in Sikandarpur Industrial Area of Bihta, which will produce wafers, noodles, and biscuits.

According to official information, these nine proposals are expected to commence production within the current financial year. Besides UltraTech Cement and Sona Biscuits, other significant investments include:

  • M/s Regal Resources: Rs 92.60 crore for a maize starch production plant in Thakurganj, Kishanganj.
  • M/s West Well: Rs 95.33 crore for a bio refinery in Baikanthpur, Gopalganj district.
  • M/s Kalindi Ventures: Rs 35.35 crore for a steel production unit in Patna.
  • M/s BK Ware Housing: Rs 35.25 crore for a steel production unit in Fatuha.
  • M/s Trilokeshwar Estate: Rs 37.34 crore in Didarganj, Patna.
  • Ripurj Agro Private Limited: Rs 36.40 crore in East Champaran.
  • Panchkanya Food Private Limited: Rs 54.34 crore in Sikandarpur Industrial Area, Bihta.

Of the total investment proposals, Rs 404 crore are allocated to the general manufacturing sector and Rs 257 crore to the food processing sector. These investments are expected to generate direct employment for approximately 1,460 people. With cabinet approval secured, all units are prepared to move forward, with land already allotted for their establishment.
