Patna: Schools in Bihar, particularly in Patna district, are at risk of facing strict action for failing to upload student information on the e-Shiksha Kosh portal. Currently, 117 schools in the district have not yet provided the required details, including Aadhaar numbers of students. The delay in compliance could lead to punitive measures against these institutions.
These schools must promptly upload class-wise student data, including Aadhaar numbers, onto the portal to avoid consequences. The Bihar Education Department has mandated that all schools, including private institutions, input this information to prevent double enrolment and fraud.
Of the 117 schools that have not yet uploaded their student information, 77 are located in Patna Sadar block. Other schools that have not complied are spread across various blocks, including Athmalgola (2 schools), Bakhtiyarpur (1), Barh (1), Bihta (4), Bikram (2), Danapur (3), Dhanarua (1), Dulhin Bazar (1), Maner (2), Masaurhi (3), Mokama (2), Naubatpur (5), Paliganj (3), Pandarak (1), Punpun (1), Phulwari Sharif (5), and Sampatchak (3).
According to the District Education Officer (DEO), if these schools fail to comply, their recognition could be revoked. For those affiliated with CBSE or ICSE, the respective boards will be recommended to cancel their affiliation. Additionally, schools recognised under the Bihar State Children’s Free and Compulsory Education Rules risk losing their accreditation.
