Punjab Overpower Bihar by Six Wickets in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy

Patna: Punjab secured a dominant six-wicket victory over Bihar in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy T20 match at Niranjan Shah Stadium, Rajkot. Bihar, electing to bat first after winning the toss, managed 113 runs for six wickets in their 20 overs. Punjab chased the target with ease, reaching 114 for four in just 9.4 overs and earning the full four points. Harpreet Brar was adjudged Player of the Match for his excellent bowling performance.

Bihar’s innings lacked substantial partnerships, with contributions from Captain Sakibul Gani (27), Himanshu Singh (20*), and Kumar Rajneesh (19*). Harpreet Brar was the standout bowler for Punjab, claiming three wickets for 18 runs, while Ramandeep Singh (2/6) and Baltej Singh (1/23) provided solid support.

Punjab’s chase was spearheaded by Prabhsimran Singh (38) and Captain Abhishek Sharma (33). Anmolpreet Singh remained unbeaten on 14, while Naman Dheer added 13 to help Punjab seal the victory. Bihar’s bowlers Nawaz Khan (2/24), Himanshu Singh (1/21), and Sachin Kumar Singh (1/12) managed to pick up wickets but couldn’t stop Punjab’s aggressive batting.

Bihar will face Meghalaya in their next match on 27 November.
