Patna: All the major political parties have started their preparations for the upcoming Bihar assembly elections. The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and the Grand Alliance (Mahagathbandhan) are gearing up for a fierce battle. However, this time, the spotlight is on Prashant Kishore, popularly known as PK, who is set to make a significant impact with his new party, Jan Suraaj.
Prashant Kishore, the founder of Jan Suraaj and the mastermind behind the Padyatra Abhiyan, has announced that in the upcoming assembly elections, there will be a direct contest between Jan Suraaj and the NDA. He dismissed the relevance of the RJD, stating that it will not be a factor and that Jan Suraaj will emerge victorious. Kishore criticized the NDA, particularly Nitish Kumar’s JD(U), claiming that it is already a “punctured” tyre, and questioned the ability of the smaller allied parties to support the BJP effectively.
Kishore also took aim at the RJD, questioning its strength as a party. He pointed out that in 2010, the RJD secured only 22 seats, and in 2015, it performed better only with external help. He added that if Chirag Paswan had not participated in the last election, the RJD would have been reduced to 30-32 seats. Kishore further claimed that the Muslim vote, which he referred to as “kerosene oil,” is rapidly depleting from the RJD’s lantern, which he believes will lead to its defeat in the next election. He asserted that this would also bring down the BJP’s arrogance and pave the way for Jan Suraaj to form the government.
Prashant Kishore’s Jan Suraaj party is actively preparing for the elections. For nearly two years, Kishore has been leading a padayatra across various districts of Bihar, starting from West Champaran and soon reaching Supaul. The party is rapidly expanding its organization in the districts covered by the padayatra, with the selection of district presidents and vice-presidents already underway.
