Patna Railway Police Dismantle Inter-State Mobile Theft Gang, Arrest Three

Patna: The Patna Railway Police have successfully busted an inter-state gang of mobile phone thieves, arresting three individuals involved in the operation. A total of 25 stolen mobile phones have been recovered, which the gang used to sell at a mobile repair shop in Phulwari Sharif at high prices.

According to Patna Railway Superintendent of Police (SP) Amritendu Shekhar Thakur, complaints of thefts involving personal belongings, expensive jewellery, and mobile phones were being reported daily from train passengers. Acting on these complaints, the police arrested three notorious thieves and recovered 25 mobile phones, two laptops worth approximately ₹4.5 lakh, identity cards belonging to eight different people, and six ATM cards. The gang had been carrying out thefts on trains.

The arrested individuals, identified as Bittu Kumar (20) from Nalanda, Kaushal Kumar (28) from Mokama, and Mohammad Abraaj (22) from Phulwari Sharif, are part of an inter-state mobile theft gang. They travelled across states, targeting passengers on trains, and sold the stolen goods at a shop in Phulwari Sharif.

The Railway Police received a theft complaint on September 16, which led to a raid and the arrest of the three suspects. Kaushal Kumar is believed to have been involved in thefts across multiple states. The stolen goods were sold at the mobile repair shop operated by Mohammad Abraaj. During the raid, the police recovered 25 stolen mobiles, two laptops, several identity cards, and ATM cards.
