Patna: The selection trials for the Hockey Bihar teams participating in the 2nd Hockey India Junior East Zone Women and Men 2024 Championship were recently held in Patna. On June 26, women hockey players gathered at Shastri Nagar Kanya Uchcha Vidyalaya, while men hockey players showcased their skills at Dung Dung Stadium, B.R.C. Danapur.
A total of 122 players, with 59 women and 63 men, from across Bihar participated in these trials. Out of these, 25 women and 25 men were selected. The selected players will attend a training camp starting from July 1, 2024, at Dung Dung Stadium, B.R.C. Danapur. From this pool, 18 players each from the women’s and men’s categories will be chosen to represent Bihar in the upcoming championship.
The selection committee for the women’s category included Amar Kumar Bharti (NIS), Mini Kumari (NIS), Tulsi Kumari (NIS), Navneet Kaur (NIS), and Kriti Singh. For the men’s category, the selectors were Manoj Kumar (NIS), Mohd. Iqbal Akhtar, Bhim Kumar, Vikash Kumar Singh, and Nitish Kumar (NIS).

- Goalkeepers: Puja Kumari, Aanchal Kumari, Gunja Kumari, Sukarana Praveen
- Defenders: Lakshmi Kumari, Ankita Kumari, Khushi Kumari, Jyoti Kumari, Neha Kumari, Sugandh Sonam
- Mid-fielders: Kajal Kachhap, Rimjhim Kumari, Sharda Kumari, Sonam Kumari, Nazia Khatoon, Akansha Yadav, Babli Kumari
