Patna: Captain Suraj Kashyap produced a superb all-round performance, scoring an unbeaten 67 and claiming four wickets, while Satyam Kumar struck a fluent unbeaten 67 to guide YMCC to a six-wicket victory in the Officer Madan Mohan Prasad Memorial Patna District Senior Division Cricket League. The win not only extended YMCC’s winning streak but also brought an end to defending champions ERCC’s run of four consecutive victories. Suraj Kashyap was named Player of the Match.
The match, played at the local Genex Cricket Ground in Fatehpur, Patna, saw ERCC elect to bat after winning the toss. They posted a competitive 215 for 9 in their allotted 40 overs. In reply, YMCC chased down the target with authority, reaching 217 for 4 in 36.4 overs.
For ERCC, Kumar Aditya top-scored with a vital 59, while Ashish Kumar (33), Anmol Kumar (30), Rohit Raj (31) and Rishabh Raj (21) all made useful contributions. However, the side lost wickets at regular intervals, preventing them from building a bigger total.
YMCC’s bowling attack was led by Suraj Kashyap, who returned impressive figures of 4 for 23. He received good support from Kartik Pandey, who picked up 2 for 29.
Chasing the target, YMCC suffered an early setback, but the unbeaten partnership between Suraj Kashyap and Satyam Kumar turned the match decisively in their favour. Both batsmen remained unbeaten on 67, steering the team home comfortably. Contributions also came from Virat Pandey (21), Rishabh Rakesh (20), Amit Kumar (19) and Shyamal Pandey (16).
For ERCC, Abhishek Kumar Singh (1/46), Rohit Raj (1/60), Abhinav Singh (1/27) and Bunty Kumar (1/47) claimed a wicket each.
