Patna: In the final match of the 14th Hockey Bihar State Level Junior Tournament, held at Dung Dung Stadium, BRC Danpur, Muzaffarpur secured a decisive 4-0 victory over Patna. Shobhit Raj played a crucial role in the win, scoring two consecutive goals in the ninth and 38th minutes of the first quarter, through a penalty corner and a field goal, respectively. Akash Yadav extended the lead with a goal in the 44th minute, followed by Amarendra Kumar’s goal in the 55th minute, sealing the title for Muzaffarpur.
Ratan Kumar, the goalkeeper for Muzaffarpur, was named Man of the Match, while Patna’s Ashish Ranjan was honoured as Man of the Tournament.
Lieutenant Colonel BP Rao of BRC Danpur graced the occasion as the chief guest. The event was also attended by senior journalist Issuddin, veteran athletic player Chunchun, and international football players Pritam Bahadur, Subhash Jha, Narendra Kumar, Rahul Kumar, Manoj Kumar, Minnie Kumari, and Shailendra Dixit.
