Mairwa (Siwan): On the third day of the 14th Hockey Bihar Sub Junior Boys State Championship 2024, organised by Hockey Siwan at the Adarsh Government Middle School and Hariram High School sports grounds, three teams secured their places in the semi-finals.
In the first quarter-final match, Muzaffarpur defeated Khagaria 2-0. Amarendra Kumar Singh opened the scoring in the 12th minute, followed by Deepu Vishwakarma’s goal in the 32nd minute, securing Muzaffarpur’s entry into the semi-finals.
The second quarter-final saw Saharsa overcome Siwan 2-1. Siwan’s Vikas Ram scored the first goal in the 49th minute. Saharsa responded with Aditya Raj’s equaliser in the 53rd minute. In the final minute, Sonu Kumar scored the decisive goal, sending Saharsa into the semi-finals.
In the third quarter-final, Bhojpur triumphed over Buxar 1-0, with Prince Kumar netting the only goal in the second minute of the match.
The semi-finals will see Hockey Muzaffarpur face Hockey Bhojpur, while Hockey Patna will take on Hockey Saharsa.
