Patna: The Cooch Behar Trophy Under-19 Men’s Multiday Cricket Tournament match between Maharashtra and Bihar ended in a draw, with Maharashtra gaining three points by virtue of a first-innings lead. Bihar earned one point from the encounter.

Bihar, competing in Group E, retained their fourth position with 11 points in the standings. Maharashtra maintained their dominance at the top with 24 points, followed by Rajasthan with 21 points in second place and Jharkhand in third with 16 points.

Match Highlights

Bihar posted 240 runs in their first innings but trailed as Maharashtra responded with a commanding total of 355 runs. Bihar began their second innings and ended the match at 161 for 3 after 50 overs, with no further play possible.

Resuming their first innings on the final day at 222 for 4, Maharashtra’s innings concluded at 355 runs in 107.5 overs. Key contributors were Neeraj Joshi, who scored an outstanding 113, Nikhil Lunawat (63), and both Om Bhabad and Vaibhav Agam, who scored 54 each. Bihar’s Suman Kumar stood out with the ball, claiming 4 wickets for 97 runs.

In Bihar’s second innings, Prithvi Raj led with a composed 74 runs off 104 balls, including 12 boundaries and one six. Satyam Kumar played a patient unbeaten knock of 51 off 134 balls, supported by 10 fours. The team ended the day at 161 for 3, with Deepesh Gupta (8*) and Satyam still at the crease.

Bowling Performances

Maharashtra’s bowlers made their mark, with Parth Devkar (1/25), Neeraj Joshi (1/40), and Yash Borkar (1/28) taking a wicket each in the second innings. Earlier, Bihar’s bowlers showcased determination, led by Suman Kumar and supported by Ayush Kumar Singh, Mohammad Alam, Badal Kumar, and Aditya Raj, who shared wickets in Maharashtra’s innings.

This evenly contested match highlighted strong performances from both sides, with Maharashtra gaining the upper hand through their dominant first innings.
