Madhya Pradesh Thrash Bihar by an Innings and 214 Runs in Colonel CK Nayudu Trophy U-23

Patna: Madhya Pradesh delivered a dominant performance, defeating Bihar by an innings and 214 runs in the Colonel CK Nayudu Trophy Under-23 Men’s Cricket match at Holkar Stadium in Indore. Bihar’s batting collapsed in both innings, scoring only 112 in the first and 78 in the second, while Madhya Pradesh posted an imposing 404 for 4 declared in their first innings.

Resuming their innings at 332 for 2 on the final day, Madhya Pradesh declared after reaching 404 for 4. Chanchal Rathore was the star of the innings with an unbeaten 143, supported by Akshat Raghuvanshi’s 121. Mohammad Arhan Akil scored 59, and Vikas Sharma added 34. For Bihar, Manish Kumar picked up 2 wickets for 104 runs, while Mohammad Izhar and Suraj Kashyap claimed one wicket each.

Bihar’s second innings unravelled quickly, losing their first two wickets with just 1 run on the board. The team folded for a paltry 78, with Suraj Kashyap top-scoring with 28. Key players like Animesh Kumar, who had scored a half-century in the first innings, went out without scoring, as did Veer Abhimanyu and Himanshu Tiwari.

Madhya Pradesh’s bowling attack was spearheaded by Soumya Kumar Pandey, who took 5 wickets for 35 runs, completing an impressive 12-wicket haul across the match. Adhiraj Pratap Singh took 2 wickets for 25 runs, and Yuvraj Nema added 2 for 16, sealing Bihar’s dismal defeat.
