Patna: Patients visiting Loknayak Jayaprakash (LNJP) Bone Hospital in Rajvanshi Nagar can now access MRI test facilities at the lowest cost compared to leading hospitals such as PMCH, NMCH, Jaiprabha Medanta, Patna AIIMS, and IGIMS. The new service, set to begin on 15 February, will offer MRI tests for Lumbar Spondylitis (LS) at just ₹2,300, significantly lower than the ₹3,500 charged at other city hospitals and ₹6,500–₹70,000 in private facilities.
The MRI facility will feature a 1.5 Tesla machine installed in a newly constructed 2,200-square-foot room. A three-phase 100 KVA electricity supply has been arranged, and the total cost of the project is estimated to be ₹4–5 crore. The hospital administration has received approval from the health department, and the selected agency will soon begin installation.
Dr Subhash Chandra, the hospital director, stated that the facility will alleviate the need for patients to visit other hospitals for MRI tests. Currently, more than 30 patients require MRI tests daily, with approximately 1,000 patients needing the test each month. The introduction of this service is expected to provide high-quality diagnostics at a fraction of the usual cost, ensuring accessibility for all.
