Katihar senior men's team

Patna: Katihar secured a place in the final of the Bihar Cricket Association (BCA) Men’s Senior Championships after defeating East Champaran by 14 runs in the first semi-final played at Moinul Haq Stadium in Patna.
Batting first after the toss in the 40-over contest, Katihar were bowled out for 168 in 39.2 overs. Ashwini Kumar played a key innings, scoring 57 runs off 72 balls, which included six boundaries and a six. Mayank Pamnani contributed 47 runs, while Khalid Alam added 20, helping the team reach a competitive total.
For East Champaran, Imran Munna Hashmi impressed with the ball, claiming three wickets for 32 runs in 5.2 overs. Mani Kaushal Kant and Faisal Gani picked up two wickets each, while Tunna and Sakibul Gani claimed one wicket apiece.
Chasing the target, East Champaran were bowled out for 154 in 38.1 overs. Gopi Krishna GK top-scored with 46 runs, while Anupam made 23 and Sameer Akhtar added 13. However, the remaining batsmen failed to build significant partnerships.

For Katihar, Rakeev Shahnawaz delivered an impressive spell, taking four wickets for 43 runs in eight overs. Ayush and Harsh claimed two wickets each, while Khalid Alam and Ashwini Kumar took one wicket apiece.
With this victory, Katihar have advanced to the final of the BCA Men’s Senior Championships. The second semi-final between Nalanda and Begusarai will be played on March 14 at Moinul Haq Stadium in Patna.
