Kartikeya Kumar and Vanshika Maheshwari Emerge Champs in Bihar State Under 7 Chess Championship

Patna: In the Bihar State Under 7 Chess Championship held at the Bihar School of Chess located at Pataliputra Sports Complex in Patna, Kartikeya Kumar from Patna secured the title in the boys’ category with six points, while Vanshika Maheshwari triumphed in the girls’ category with four points.

In the boys’ category, Kartikeya won both his matches today against Aarush Kumar and Krishna, finishing with six points to claim the championship. Vishnu Vaibhav from Begusarai defeated Aarush in the final round to become the runner-up with five points.

In a gripping match in the girls’ category, top-seeded Vanshika Maheshwari was defeated by Swastika Singh of Khagaria. On the third board, Kiara Golecha from Purnia won against Krisha Kriti from Patna, also scoring four points. The final standings in the girls’ category were determined by tie-break points, with Vanshika, Swastika, and Kiara taking first, second, and third place respectively.

The prize distribution ceremony was graced by the presence of All Bihar Chess Association President Diljeet Khanna as the chief guest and Senior Vice President Rajendra Kumar as the special guest. They honored the winners with trophies and certificates. Other notable attendees included Joint Secretary Nandkishore, Vipal Subhash, Shashi Nand Kumar, senior player Sameer Kumar, Bihar School of Chess coach Ved Prakash, Alok Priyadarshi, and Priyanka Kumari.
