Karnataka Triumph Over Bihar by Eight Wickets in Ranji Trophy Match

Patna: In their third Ranji Trophy match of the season at Moinul Haq Stadium, Karnataka defeated Bihar by eight wickets. Opting to field first after winning the toss, Karnataka bowled Bihar out for 143 runs in their first innings. In response, Karnataka declared their first innings at 287 for seven, gaining a 144-run lead.

On the final day, Bihar began their second innings but managed only 212 runs before being bowled out, leaving Karnataka a target of 69 runs to secure victory. Karnataka chased down the total comfortably, scoring 70 for the loss of two wickets in just 10.1 overs to clinch the match. Sakibul Gani was declared Man of the Match for his brilliant knock of 130 runs, featuring 15 boundaries and four sixes in Bihar’s second innings.

In addition to Gani’s performance, Babul Kumar scored 44, while Vaibhav Suryavanshi (6), Bipin Saurabh (7), Raghavendra Pratap (4), and Jitin (15) added minor contributions. Shraman Nigrodh, Veer Pratap Singh, Anuj Raj, and Sakib Hussain were dismissed for zero.

Karnataka’s bowlers shone, with Shreyash Gopal taking four wickets and V. Vyshak three, while Mohsin Khan, Vidyadhar Patil, and Kaushik V claimed one each. In Karnataka’s chase, Mayank Agarwal (9) and Sarman R (15) set the pace, while Nitin Jose scored 28, and Abhinav Manohar remained unbeaten on 17. Bihar’s bowlers Anuj and Himanshu managed one wicket apiece.

Bihar will face Madhya Pradesh next at Moinul Haq Stadium, beginning on 6th November.
