Inter-College Cultural Fest held at JD Women’s College

Patna: A three-day inter-college cultural competition concluded on a grand note today with a vibrant cultural programme at the auditorium of JD Women’s College, under Patliputra University.
On the occasion, performances were presented by colleges that secured first place across various categories of the competition. These winning artists will now showcase their talent at this year’s Bihar Diwas celebrations in Patna.
JD Women’s College emerged as the overall winner of the inter-college cultural competition. Under the experienced guidance of Prof Rita Das, Dr Rekha and Priyanka Kumari, students of the college’s Music Department excelled across disciplines, securing first place in classical music, light music, folk songs, group folk dance, classical dance, and drama. Their achievements reflected exceptional talent, dedication, and high-quality training across the university.
Prof Rita Das, Head of the Music Department at JD Women’s College, said the students had enhanced the institution’s prestige by securing top positions in the maximum number of categories. “The credit goes to the college Principal, Prof Meera Kumari, who has consistently extended full support to the Music Department,” she said.
She further noted that the department’s artists and faculty had worked diligently to nurture young talent. Experts from various fields were invited to judge the competition, and they carried out their responsibilities with fairness and integrity, she added.
At the upcoming Bihar Diwas celebrations, students from the Music Department, including Anisha Kumari, Shreya Srivastava and Adya Shakti, will present their performances.
Teachers and students from various colleges affiliated with Patliputra University were present on the occasion.
