Hyderabad Post 10-Wicket Victory Over Bihar in CK Nayudu Trophy

Patna: The CK Nayudu Trophy match between Hyderabad and Bihar, which commenced on October 13 at the Moinul Haque Stadium, concluded on the third day. Hyderabad emerged victorious, defeating Bihar by 10 wickets.

Hyderabad won the toss and opted to bat first, posting a total of 349 runs. In response, Bihar was bowled out for 150 runs in their first innings, forcing them to follow on. In the follow-on, Bihar managed to avoid an innings defeat, thanks to Shashank Upadhyay’s impressive 87 runs, contributing to a total of 228 runs.

Hyderabad needed just 30 runs to win, which they achieved comfortably, scoring 33 runs without losing any wickets. Both Hyderabad’s openers, Aman (15 runs) and Jairam (18 runs), remained unbeaten.

Shashank Upadhyay of Bihar: 87 runs

At the close of play on the second day, Bihar’s score stood at 131 for 8, needing 68 more runs to avoid an innings defeat. However, a vital partnership of 87 runs off 233 balls for the ninth wicket between Shashank Upadhyay and Anup Kumar saved Bihar from an innings loss. Anup Kumar was eventually dismissed for 29 runs.

Hyderabad’s Nitin Sai was the star bowler, taking six wickets in the first innings and seven in the second. Bihar’s next match is scheduled against Madhya Pradesh in Indore, starting on 20 October.
