Devansh, Yuvan, Ankita, and Trisha Lead After Day 2 of Bihar State Under 9 Chess Championship

Patna: On the second day of the Bihar State Under 9 Chess Championship, organized by Khelo Chess Academy under the aegis of the All Bihar Chess Association at Aqua Water Park, Saguna Mor, Devansh and Yuvan emerged as joint leaders in the boys’ category, while Ankita and Trisha shared the top spot in the girls’ category.

In the boys’ category, after five rounds, including three played today, Devansh Keshari of Patna and Yuvan of Muzaffarpur are jointly leading with four and a half points each. Their fifth-round match on the top board ended in a draw, leaving both players unbeaten but without a decisive result.

Five players are currently tied for second place with four points each. In the girls’ category, Ankita Raj and Trisha Ranjan, both from Patna, secured victories against Devisha Anand and Rajshree respectively in the four rounds played so far, positioning them jointly at the top with four points each. Three other players, Kirti Sinha, Arshi Aatish, and Aradhya Prakash, are tied for second place with three points each.

Tomorrow, the final round of matches will determine the winners in both categories.

  • Arshi Aatish (3) defeated Pratyaksha Raj (2)
  • Kirti Sinha (3) defeated Shivani Priya (2)
  • Aradhya Prakash (2.5) and Vanshika Maheshwari (2.5) drew their match.
