Patna: A meeting of the CM Relief Fund Trust Board was convened under the chairmanship of Bihar Chief Nitish Kumar at the ‘Sankalp Hall’ located at 1 Anne Marg, where the 24th meeting was successfully held. Various aspects related to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund were discussed in detail, and the Chief Minister issued necessary directions to the concerned officials.
During the meeting, approval was granted for an expenditure of ₹4.70 crore disbursed as ex gratia assistance. This includes aid to the dependants of 89 deceased persons and 41 seriously injured individuals from Bihar affected by accidents outside the state, as well as financial assistance to the families of 72 persons who lost their lives in disasters within the state.
The board also approved an expenditure of ₹38.19 lakh for welfare measures in flood relief camps, including financial assistance for the birth of children in camps and for the purchase of utensils and clothing for camp residents.
Additionally, ₹86 lakh has been disbursed to the Labour Resources Department for the rehabilitation of adolescents aged between 14 and 18 years who were rescued from child labour, at the rate of ₹25,000 per individual.
Addressing the meeting, the Chief Minister Nitish Kumar stated that the Relief Fund plays a crucial role in providing assistance to people during disasters, as well as in various other situations, significantly benefiting those in need.
Among those present were Disaster Management Minister Narayan Prasad, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Deepak Kumar, Director General of Police Vinay Kumar, Additional Chief Secretary of the Cabinet Secretariat Department Arvind Kumar Chaudhary, Additional Chief Secretary of the General Administration Department Dr B. Rajender, Secretaries Anupam Kumar and Dr Chandrashekhar Singh, Health Secretary Lokesh Kumar Singh, and Finance Department (Expenditure) Secretary Rachna Patil, along with other senior officials.
