Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar visited Patel Bhavan on Wednesday to inspect the Home Department and Disaster Management Department, issuing necessary instructions to the officials.
At the second floor of Patel Bhavan, in his office within the Home Department, the Chief Minister held a meeting with senior officials to review the state’s law and order situation and assess ongoing efforts to improve policing activities.
During the inspection, the Chief Minister emphasised that all officials should arrive at the office on time and handle their responsibilities efficiently.
He also visited the State Emergency Operations Centre and reviewed its systems and functioning. During the visit, Development Commissioner and Additional Chief Secretary of the Disaster Management Department, Pratyaya Amrit, briefed the CM on the centre’s operations, noting that it functions round the clock. The centre provides continuous updates on weather conditions, temperature, and various disaster-related activities in the state.

The CM further inspected various sections of the Bihar State Disaster Management Authority (BSDMA) located on the fifth floor. He also reviewed the BSDMA conference hall and held a meeting there with the vice-chairman, members, and senior officials of the authority to understand the department’s functioning and initiatives.
Among those present during the inspection were Water Resources and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary, Disaster Management Minister Vijay Kumar Mandal, MP Sanjay Kumar Jha, BSDMA Vice-Chairman Dr Uday Kant, Chief Minister’s Principal Secretary Deepak Kumar, BSDMA Members P.K. Rai, Kaushal Kumar Mishra, Narendra Kumar Singh, and Prakash Kumar, Development Commissioner and Additional Chief Secretary of the Disaster Management Department Pratyaya Amrit, Director General of Police Vinay Kumar, Additional Chief Secretary of the Home Department Arvind Kumar Chaudhary, CM’s Secretary Kumar Ravi, and other senior officials from the Home and Disaster Management Departments.
