Patna: Recently, Janata Dal United’s (JD(U)) state general secretary, Chhotu Singh, displayed posters in Patna advocating for the Bharat Ratna to be awarded to Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. Now, the LJP (Ram Vilas) chief, Chirag Paswan, has also voiced his support for the JD(U)’s demand. He stated that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar possesses all the qualities and capabilities deserving of an honour like the Bharat Ratna.

Union Minister Chirag Paswan highlighted Nitish Kumar’s extensive political experience, acknowledging that, regardless of whether one agrees with his politics, his journey and background demonstrate a long-standing influence in Indian politics. He emphasised that Nitish Kumar has been a pivotal figure in the political landscape for an extended period and therefore deserves recognition with the Bharat Ratna.

Paswan remarked, “It is a positive development. It should happen, and he should be awarded the Bharat Ratna. The political experience of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is unparalleled among most politicians. JD(U) leaders believe, and I also agree, that he possesses all the qualities and capabilities necessary for such an esteemed honour.”

Just before the JD(U) state executive meeting, Chhotu Singh had displayed posters demanding the Bharat Ratna for Nitish Kumar, describing him as a renowned socialist leader and a champion of Bihar’s development.
