Patna: The third selection trial for the fifth season of the Casa Picolla School Cricket League Under-15, organised by Turning Point, was held at SDV Public School, Kurthaul. The event saw an enthusiastic turnout of 149 young cricketers, out of which 35 players were shortlisted for the league.
The trials were inaugurated by Technical Director Saurabh Chakraborty, while Krishna Patel from the JDU Sports Cell introduced the participants. The selection process was overseen by Chakraborty and led by Suman Agrawal, with selectors Hamid Ansari, Prince, and Yatendra evaluating the players’ performances.
Organising Secretary Naveen Kumar shared that players were assessed on their batting, bowling, wicketkeeping, and fitness levels. He also honoured the dignitaries with mementoes during the event.
Organising President Vijay Sharma expressed satisfaction with the turnout across all three trials conducted so far. “The response from players has been overwhelming, and we are thrilled to see emerging talent. We expect even greater participation in the upcoming trials,” he said.
The fourth selection trial is scheduled to take place on 5th January at Rajiv Cricket Academy, Rajiv Nagar. Trial in-charge Sumit Sharma emphasised that only students from schools in Patna district are eligible to participate. Players must bring their Aadhaar card, birth certificate, and school enrolment proof. Any external interference will result in disqualification, he warned.
