IPRD Bihar Meeting

Patna: The Bihar government has intensified efforts to publicise its ambitious Saat Nishchay-3 programme, with the Information and Public Relations Department (IPRD) gearing up for a statewide outreach drive. IPRD Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary recently reviewed the department’s work and directed that details of government schemes and achievements be effectively conveyed to every household in the state. He also stressed the need for swift rebuttal of misinformation and rumours circulating on social media.
Special focus on 15 themes of a Developed Bihar
At a meeting held at Suchna Bhawan, Mr Chaudhary said the department is extensively using print, electronic, radio and digital platforms—Facebook, YouTube, X and Instagram—to take government policies to the people. Outdoor hoardings and social media influencers are also being roped in. The campaign is centred on 15 key themes, including employment generation and industrial development, women empowerment and social security, law and order and police modernisation, as well as education, health, agriculture and tourism.
Curb on rumours and public feedback
The review meeting was informed that the department is not only disseminating information but also ensuring prompt action against fake news. It plays a crucial role during natural disasters and in maintaining social harmony. Public feedback received through various channels is conveyed to the government to further improve policy implementation.
Welfare schemes for journalists
The minister also took stock of journalist welfare schemes run by the department, including the Bihar State Journalist Honour Pension Scheme, the Bihar State Journalist Insurance Scheme, accreditation of journalists, and the publication of the department’s diary and calendar.
Public relations officers posted in all departments
Secretary Anupam Kumar said public relations officers have been appointed in all state departments to strengthen communication. These officers are conducting regular press briefings to ensure factual dissemination of official information. Director Anil Kumar, Additional Secretary Rajiv Kumar Singh, Vidhubhushan Chaudhary and other senior officials were present at the meeting.
