Patna: Bihar Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar on Saturday honoured the coaches, officials of the Bihar State Kabaddi Association, and technical staff for their significant contributions to the successful organisation of the Chancellor Trophy Inter-University Kabaddi Tournament 2024. Speaking at the event, the Governor commended their dedication and devotion, noting that they had fostered a positive environment for Kabaddi in Bihar. He encouraged them to prepare a strategic roadmap to further the sport in the state and assured them that their suggestions to promote Kabaddi would be given serious consideration.
The Governor announced plans to establish a Sports Cell and appoint a Dean of Sports at every university in Bihar, along with coaches to provide professional Kabaddi training. He proposed organising a nationwide inter-university Kabaddi tournament, aiming for Bihar to lead in Kabaddi achievements. He also emphasised the importance of encouraging students to pursue their sporting interests alongside their studies, committing to make every effort to boost sports in Bihar.
The event was attended by Kumar Vijay Singh, Chairman of the Bihar State Kabaddi Association.
