Bihar Fall to Chhattisgarh by Four Wickets in U-19 Vinoo Mankad Trophy Match

Patna: Bihar suffered a four-wicket defeat against Chhattisgarh in the fourth match of the U-19 Vinoo Mankad Trophy at Stumps Cricket Ground, Hyderabad. Bihar’s final match is scheduled against Kerala on October 12.

After being put in to bat, Bihar were bowled out for 197 runs in 45.2 overs. Chhattisgarh successfully chased the target, scoring 201 runs for six wickets in 34.1 overs.

Bihar captain Md Alam contributed 51 runs, while Aditya Sinha top-scored with 63 runs, steering the team towards a competitive total. However, after their dismissals, the remaining batsmen struggled to build on the momentum, leading to Bihar’s defeat. Expectations were high from opener Prithvi Raj, but he disappointed again, scoring just 14 runs in his second match. Other contributions included Taufiq (10 runs), Hemant Singh (16 runs), and Shashwat Giri (12 runs).

Chhattisgarh’s bowling was led by Vikalp Tiwari, who took six wickets, while Dhananjay, Rudra, Faiz Khan, and Shahil picked up one wicket each.

In response, Chhattisgarh faced early setbacks, losing two wickets for just 27 runs. However, Sahil’s 60 runs, Alok Kumar’s 64 runs, and an unbeaten 41 from Vikalp Tiwari guided the team to a six-wicket victory.

For Bihar, Bharat Chittoria and Satyam Kumar took two wickets each, while Vasudev and Ayush claimed one wicket each.
