Bihar Engineering University, established on 27 July 2022, aims to provide high-quality technical education to students across Bihar. A five-acre plot in Mithapur, Patna, has been allocated for constructing its campus, and the development of the university’s infrastructure is currently underway.
The main building of BEU is designed to have four floors with a total built-up area of 1,11,732 square feet. The ground floor will house the Dean’s office, Registrar’s office, cafeteria, and other administrative offices, while the first floor will accommodate the Vice-Chancellor’s office, a meeting hall, and an evaluation centre. The second floor is designated for office and storage spaces, the third floor will include five archives and additional store rooms, and the fourth floor will feature two large multipurpose halls and further evaluation centres.
A guest house with eight rooms and four suite rooms is also under construction on the campus, along with a caretaker’s residence. On 23 November, the Chief Minister inspected the construction site and issued directives to the officials to expedite the work.
Held within two years of the university’s establishment, the first convocation marked a significant milestone. Degrees were awarded to students from engineering colleges across 38 districts of Bihar. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar honoured the top-performing graduates, commending their achievements and encouraging them to contribute to the state’s development.
