Patna: Bihar Education Minister Sunil Kumar announced that a high-level committee has been established to develop a policy regarding the transfer of teachers within the state. The committee is expected to formulate the policy within two to three weeks. Minister Kumar emphasized that it is not necessary for teachers to be transferred across all regions of Bihar; transfers will be conducted only where necessary. Once the transfer policy is finalized, teacher transfers will commence this year.

Minister Kumar stated, “We will prioritize the needs of teachers, especially in cases where both spouses are teachers or where there are health issues, to ensure the smooth functioning of schools.”

The teachers’ union has long demanded the transfer of contractual teachers, and the government has continuously provided assurances. The new Education Minister, Sunil Kumar, has reaffirmed this commitment, assuring that teachers will benefit from transfers starting this year. The policy will soon be finalized, and necessary transfers will be carried out.

Regarding the removal of a significant number of teachers, Minister Kumar explained that this action is being taken due to the submission of incorrect certificates. Out of the 1,87,000 teachers appointed in Bihar, a substantial number have provided incorrect certificates, leading to their removal. The Education Minister denied any irregularities in this process.
