Patna: Bihar Cricket Academy clinched spot in the final of the Abhishek Memorial Under-16 Inter-School Cricket Tournament after decisive victories on Tuesday while Bihar Cambridge Cricket Academy moved into the semifinals. Bihar Cricket Academy defeated AK Cricket Academy by 99 runs, while Bihar Cambridge Cricket Academy outplayed Pankaj Sir Cricket Center with an impressive 201-run margin.
In the first semi-final at La Martiniere World School, held under the Sardar Patel Sports Foundation, AK Cricket Academy left the field in protest over an umpiring decision, prompting the organising committee to declare Bihar Cricket Academy as the winners. This decision was announced by Santosh Tiwari, founder secretary of the tournament.
Winning the toss, AK Cricket Academy opted to field first. Bihar Cricket Academy capitalised on the opportunity, scoring 196 runs for 5 wickets in 23 overs, with notable contributions from Ravi Shankar (65) and Ayush Kumar (50). In response, AK Cricket Academy managed 97 runs for 7 wickets in 12.5 overs before leaving the field. Aman Singh from Bihar Cricket Academy, who scored 13 runs and took 2 wickets, was named Player of the Match.
In the quarterfinals, Pankaj Sir Cricket Center chose to field after winning the toss. Bihar Cambridge Cricket Academy’s Abhishek Raj delivered a sensational performance, scoring 192 runs off 66 balls, which included 15 fours and 18 sixes, helping his team reach a total of 300 runs for 6 wickets in 20 overs. Pankaj Sir Cricket Center’s response was stifled by the exceptional bowling of Mohammad Salik, and they were bowled out for 99 runs in 14.4 overs.
